Corrugated: How is it made?

Corrugated material is made by sandwiching a fluted corrugate sheet between two flat liner sheets. The corrugate sheet is made from a stiff, strong material, such as paperboard or corrugated fiberboard, and the liner sheets are made from a smooth, flat material, such as kraft paper or clay-coated paper. The corrugate sheet is formed by passing paperboard through a corrugating machine, which shapes it into a series of parallel ridges and grooves, or "flutes." The liner sheets are then glued to the corrugate sheet to create the final corrugated material. This material is used for a wide range of products, including boxes, packaging, and other industrial and consumer goods.
